What the Great Leaders of the Ancient World said about the Akhalteke Horses.

“In Midia there is a large plato that was named at that time Niseia On that plato you could see the most gorgeous horses”

Herodotus,A Greek historian from the V Century before Christ

“Horses like these you can’t find in any other country. They are quick with extraordinary endurance Their colors are white , the color of the sunrise and any other color of the rainbow ”

IV Century before Christ from the papers of the War of Alexander the Great

What we know

The Akhal-Teke is the most ancient pure-blood breed of horses in the world. They have been known since 3000 BC ( The Arabian breed was started in the first Century AD) and were raised in the region called Nissa, The capitol of the Persian State, currently called Turkmenistan

The Akhal-Teke is a big horse that has unique golden colors , strong muscular legs, and a sleek head. These horses are elegant, beautiful, noble, and very intelligent

The best Akhal-Teke's are in Russia and Turkmenistan. In 1999 and 2002 practically all of the pure-blood Akhal-Tekien horses in the U S were evaluated; the results showed that the largest and most high quality group of the pure-blood Akhal-Teke's in America exist in Texas, owned by Tito Pintecorvo. ( The results were published in Akhal-Teke Quarterly , in 1999 and 2002) Suddenly for the World and the U S , because of the export of Akhal-Teke horses from Russia, by Tito Pontecorvo, the U S stands now in the third place in the amount and quality of the Akhal-Teke horses in the world, after Russia and Turkmenistan

Tito Pintecorvo has a PHD in Oceanology, in the U S he had 80 pure blood , high quality Akhal-Tekes and in Russia around 100 horses that every year are winning the title of Champion of the World

What the Famous Hyppologists of our Century said about the Akhal-Teke Horses

"The Alhal-Teke Breed of the Horse represents the last drops from that creek of pure blood that produced the breeds of galloping horses of the world"

Professor V. Vitt 1937

"The Akhal-Teke breed of Horse is more special and was created much earlier than the Arabian breed; it was thought by some breeders that the Akhal-Teke was produced from the Arab breed , but that is not correct. The Akhal-Teke is a historically separate breed of the ancient galloping horse"

A. Brauner 1916

“In a few words one can say about Akhal-Teke horses that they are unusually intelligent, graceful, and elegant like ballerinas; they exhibit a uncanny elasticity and astonishing plasticity of movement. In this breed there are champions in dressage and jumping in Olympic level of the Sports”
